The challenge
When Australia’s biggest editorial travel brand, Escape, went through a comprehensive redesign of their digital platforms and wanted to create killer video content, they needed the help of a team that were able to pair solid travel journalism credentials, with high quality TV and video production experience.
There aren’t many media folk who tick both boxes, which meant that we were a logical go-to.
What we did
Tasked with coming up with video strategy and content calendar that would inform, entertain and engage an audience in excess of 3.5 million we went away and brainstormed. Returning to the client with a series of videos that covered everything from packing and in-air beauty travel hacks, through to destination roundups and local city guides.
Initial concepts, storyboarding, script writing, location scouting, shooting, post-production editing, map animation, music selection, and voiceovers — you name it, we did it.
As well as repurposing stock vision, we also shot on location, everywhere from Japan to Jordan, sourcing talent for interviews on location overseas, as well as back in Australia. Talent included the likes of A-list model and actress, Megan Gale, and several Qantas flight attendants. We even managed to negotiate the use of an entire A380 for shooting purposes in the process. Now that’s a brokering feat!
The result
“When we were relaunching our website we needed an expert to create a video series, which required everything from sourcing talent and script writing, to shooting, editing and production. Knowing Moon Dog Media’s TV background — alongside Paul’s many years of travel writing experience — made them an obvious choice. Not only extremely professional, they also deliver high-quality and engaging content time after time.”
